camera basics and understanding exposure
lesson/module/challenge 8

Here are the requested photos for you to look at. The one with Evelyn’s legs straight out is on Auto with no post processing. The one with her legs bent up is when I duplicated the settings that auto suggested and with no blinking Aperture (it was taken in shutter priority mode) . I think these seem to be correct based on the settings and. I’m thinking you are right on when you say that the location is just too dark to get proper exposure. Maybe I’m just expecting too much from my available lighting and need to focus on more light and reflecting the light I have available. Is +3 still a lot of exposure compensation or does that look right?

27 years old from Saint Paul MN (US). I have a 3 year old daughter, a son in heaven who would be 2, and 1 year old identical twin sons! I've been with my husband for 10 years but we've only been married since August 2013. I have always loved photography and just 5 months ago upgraded from my point n shoot to a canon t3 DSLR. I'm in love!

  1. Looking good! If you need +3 exposure, you need it! And it allowed you to get your shutter speed up – 1/40 is a bit tricky to hand hold.
The images are looking good and the histogram is much more like what I’d expect to see.
Well done for persevering with this challenge.
