Lifestyle – cattle work

Moments That Matter: lesson 6: topic 2: think lifestyle

We had to get the yards ready for the cattle we are mustering in this afternoon, so I took the camera with us and took a few shots of the girls in our lifestyle 🙂

I love the first image. I have cropped it down, but have also included the original because it shows how little they are compared to the yards.

The image of Louise is a candid shot – she was telling me a story about the cows and the tree that is to her left.

Mum to 2 little girls. Live & work on a cattle station in Queensland. Have only been 'on the land' for the past 5 years - before that I was a Marketing Manger for a regional airline, then I met a grazier, fell in love, and moved away from it all :)

  1. I actually like the uncropped version best. You’re right that it shows how little they are and how big the yard is. It’s telling a story and I think the context is important. It’s great that they are wearing bright colours too because without that contrast they may have been lost against the background. The candid of Louise is really cute. She has a “thinking nice thoughts” face on as she’s telling her story. It’s natural and uncontrived which is my kind of photography.
