I took this picture of my adorable 1 week old niece with all natural light. The ISO was 100 but the picture still doesn’t look as clear as I wanted it to be.

I am a mother of three boys. My oldest is 8 and my younger ones will be 6 and 4. We live in Tomball, Texas (US) which is a small city outside of Houston. Photographing my children has always been a passion of mine but I am ready to share my passion and take it to the next level!

  1. Hi Samantha. When I first looked at this photo I thought immediately “shot at high ISO”. So I’m really surprised at the noise in this image at 100 ISO. A couple of questions:
    1. Is your camera set to shoot low quality JPEGs?
    2. Did you do any editing to the image?
    The other thing that’s definitely impacting to it’s quality (on this site) is the size of the image you uploaded. It’s 550×400 pixels. Can you try to save it at about 800 pixels on the longest side and re-upload it. (If you don’t know how to do this let me know and I’ll talk you through it)

  2. I re-uploaded the photo. I’m not sure if my camera is set to shoot low quality JPEGs, but this was taken in RAW+JPEG.
