Fun at Nippers

I love how natural and happy my daughter looks in this photo. It was taken at ISO 200, f5.6, 1/1600 and with a zoom of 152mm. I can’t quite remember if I had it on Shutter or Aperture Priority….probably Shutter as they were running and splashing around in the water. The background is busy but then that is the nature of Nippers….kids and adults everywhere! They are blurred out so that my daughter becomes the focus of the picture…I think.

I'm a Sydney mum to 2 gorgeous girls and am pregnant with my 3rd daughter, who will join us at the end of March. I'm keen to learn more about capturing the best shots of my children and am excited to be learning how to use my camera.

  1. Hi Sally, welcome to the workshop. It’s great to have you here 🙂
This is simply lovely. What a beautiful image to capture the fun of Nippers and your gorgeous daughter. And I agree with you, the background helps to build context – that’s what Nippers is like.
