Christmas Family Formal Photos

Moments That Matter: lesson 1: topic 4: bye bye blur

Took these photos in the early morning light, about 8.30am overcast day, though heating up. I’ve certainly improved on eliminating the blur
Using a compact camera – finepix S3300
1) Taken with a tripod and timer. So hard to get so many looking their best
2) Really happy with this shot of my girls
3) Once again hard to get ten people looking their best, but still can see improvement on last year’s pic!
4) My ragamuffins, didn’t realise until I uploaded the sky was quite overcast, sadly it detracted but still, my boys:)

  1. Hi Erin, nice job. Yes it is hard to get 10 people all looking their best but I like the slightly more informal look when they’re not 🙂 It usually shows more of everyone’s personality than a perfectly posed and structured photo. I love the way your littlest is looking up at you all in image #1 – very cute! I wouldn’t worry too much about the grey overcast sky. This light makes for the best photos as you’ll see in upcoming lessons. If you have Photoshop or another photo editing software you could give this a try: http://pleasedontsaycheese.com.au/photoshop-tutorial-basics/ (step 2 in particular will lighten up the image a little and make the skin-tones a bit better.
Overall very well done and I \’m looking forward to seeing more
